The Hydroponicum Centre

Hydroponic gardening has allowed for the supply of fresh local produce to the remote area of Achiltibuie , Scotland where the hydroponicum centre is located.

The Hydroponic Centre was originally set up in the mid 1980's to primarily supply fresh produce to the Summer Isles Hotel across the road. Since then The Hydroponicum has grown into a substantial privately owned venture which continues to supply the local area fresh produce grown using hydroponics.

Visitors to the hydroponicum will discover how hydroponics systems work, how you can grow anything using hydroponics and a bit of know how. There are a number of exhibits demonstrating the use of renewable energy and solar energy such as a solar powered train and hot water systems.

Our hydroponic growing houses produce extraordinary results. The Hydroponicum Centre is now the premier centre for the demonstration of soilless growing in the UK .
