Powis Castle is a medieval castle located near the town of Welshpool, in Powys, traditional county of Montgomeryshire, mid Wales. It is the residence of the Earl of Powis and is known for its extensive, attractive gardens.

Powis Castle, originally built c. 1200 as a fortress of the Welsh Princes of Powys. The castle sits on a rock above terraces with beautiful flowers and plants and overlooks a large garden that includes a lake, an orangery and an aviary.
