Website http://www.waterlily.co.uk
Classification Gardens, Museum, Beauty Spot
DescriptionGrass paths meander between a series of ponds and lakes within this 8 acre site, with scenic places to sit and ‘unwind’. Blooming at their best throughout the summer months is one of the most outstanding displays of water lilies in Britain, surrounded by huge pond and moisture loving plants, native trees, palms, wild plants and flowers. A ‘Site of Nature Conservation Interest’, the gardens, ponds and reed beds are home to abundant wildlife.

The Museum covers some of the history of Chickerell Village (mentioned in the Doomsday Book). It illustrates the fascinating history of this site from the Brickworks of 1859 through to the Water Gardens of today. There is a Tropical House which includes a cacti collection, a Family Nature Trail, Aquatic Centre and Gift Shop.

Extensive Plant Centre offering a wide selection of quality aquatic plants and water lilies all grown in the nursery on site.

Monet Tearooms serves morning coffee, light lunches, delicious Dorset Cream Teas and cakes baked on the premises.
