DescriptionScalloway pool was opened on Sunday the 4th April 1993 and is situated on the main road into Scalloway next to the Scalloway Junior High School.

Scalloway is a small village with a population of about 1000 and is located about five miles west of Lerwick, the main town in Shetland.

The Scalloway pool also provides leisure facilities for the surrounding areas of Burra, Trondra, Tingwall, Nesting, Whiteness and Weisdale.

The Pool consists of a four lane, 16.7m main pool, a shallow lagoon for toddlers and a whirlpool.

Scalloway PoolThere is also a small health suite in the pool which includes a steam room and solarium.

The spectator gallery overlooks the pool where you can relax and enjoy a freshly made cup of coffee.

The pool staff are proud of the friendly and informal atmosphere which encourages families with young children to take their first steps towards becoming happy and confident in the water.

Structured class swimming lessons are very popular and staff try to keep a balance between learning and having fun.

We run a varied programme of activities and try to provide something for everyone whether under 5 years old or over 50!
