 Waddesdon has one of the best collections of French 18th century decorative arts in the world, paintings, furniture, carpets and curiosities, lovingly assembled over 35 years by Ferdinand to please his weekend guests. Stowe is the name shared by an ancient village, country house and school (Stowe School) in Buckinghamshire in England. It is situated about two miles north-northeast of Buckingham. The breathtaking landscape gardens, including its many monuments, were acquired by the National Trust in 1990 and are open to the public. Claydon House is a country house in the Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire, England, close to the village of Middle Claydon. It is owned by the National Trust.

There has been a manor house on the site of the present house since before the Norman conquest of England.
