It is the national museum of Army communications and the exhibits and displays show the part that communications have played in the many wars and campaigns of the last 150 years. The Museum collection is regarded as being of National importance and the excellent Archives are recognised by the Public Record Office.

The Abbey of St Peter was a Benedictine Monastery in the village of Abbotsbury in Dorset, England. The abbey was founded in the 11th century by King Canute's steward Orc and his wife Thola. Canute's successor, Edward the Confessor, was impressed with the abbey and granted Orc the rights to the shore of The Fleet and any shipwrecks in the area. Portland Castle is one of the Device Forts built in 1539 by Henry VIII on the Isle of Portland to guard the superb natural Portland anchorage. The castle is now owned by English Heritage. The castle lies in the far north of the island, in the village now called Castletown, near Fortuneswell.

Lulworth Castle, in East Lulworth, Dorset, situated south of Wool, is a Castle. Today, it is still owned by the Weld Family.
In 1610 Lulworth Castle was built as a hunting lodge by Thomas Howard, 3rd Lord Bindon, who was the son of the 2nd Duke of Norfolk. In 1641 Humphrey Weld purchased it from Howard. The original private collection was formed in 1981 as the Hunter One Collection by Mike Carlton.
