Hailes Abbey is two miles northeast of Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, England.

The abbey was founded in 1245 or 1246 by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, called "King of the Romans" and the younger brother of King Henry III of England. He was granted the manor of Hailes by Henry, and settled it with Cistercian monks from Beaulieu Abbey in Hampshire. The lido is a great day out in the heart of Cheltenham, on the edge of the Cotswolds. It is a children's paradise with slides, a children's pool and a paddling pool. Our 50 metre pool is also an ideal place to train, two lanes are reserved most days.

An Arts & Crafts-style garden designed to complement a handsome Cotswold manor house. Has wonderful views of Cotswold countryside.

Snowshill Manor was the property of Winchombe Abbey from 821 until 1539 when the Abbey was confiscated by King Henry VIII during the Dissolution of the Monasteries.

It is easy enough to recognize when one is in the Cotswolds: the gentle swell of the upland laced with drystone walls and nestling villages of rich, golden limestone. However, nothing has shaped the Cotswolds more than wool.
