Gants Mill and Garden

Enjoy a bit of history, a wander along the stream among the flowers, then tea in a sunny corner of this Somerset garden. What better way to spend a summer's afternoon? Look around the old mill, see the old machinery in action, and the new scheme for generating electricity. Then relax in the garden among the flowers.
We are open from 15 May to the end of September (the best time for the garden) on Sundays, Thursdays and Bank Holidays from 2.00 to 5.00. Mill tours are... [more]

See the antique cider press and mill working, with juice pouring from the press at approx. 12 noon. Juice tasting and loads of different apples to wonder at in the first opening of the magnificent new cider barn.
Alos an organic shop selling local fresh fruit and veg, fresh baked bread, meat, fish, dairy and general groceries with in-store deli and off-licence. [more]

Built by Bishop Roger of Salisbury in the 12th century as a strongly defended palace, Sherborne Old Castle became a powerful Royalist base during the Civil War. Described as 'malicious and mischievous' by Cromwell, it fell in 1645 after a fierce eleven-day siege. [more]

Cleeve Abbey

Cleeve Abbey is a well preserved Cistercian Abbey near the town of Washford, Somerset, England. Founded late 12th century, many buildings survived the Dissolution in 1536.
The site boasts some of the finest still standing Monks living quarters in Britain, with 15th century wall paintings, and medieval tiled flooring.
