The home of the Venerable Bede, chronicler of the beginnings of English Christianity, Jarrow has become one of the best-understood Anglo-Saxon monastic sites. The Anglo-Saxon church - with the oldest dedication stone in the country, dated AD 685 - partly survives as the chancel of the parish church. The fitness studio at the leisure pool offers a good range of cardio-vascular and resistance equipment to ensure you can achieve your goals. Whilst working out you can watch tv and listen to the surround music on offer. On your first visit you will be given a thorough induction to the equipment which will help you work out effectively and safely. Equipment on offer includes steppers, bikes, cross trainers, rowing machines and treadmills.

Gosforth Pool has a range of classes available including Aquafit, Women Only sessions, Life-saving classes and Octopush (underwater hockey).

Elswick Park and Pool is kidney shaped. There are early morning swim sessions, or one can try a session of Keep Fit or Aquafit and use the sauna too.
There are also several fitness machines available for use which is part of the Impulse Fitness Suite. We also have Tennis Courts and 5-a-side All Weather Pitches for hire.
We also have two multi-purpose rooms that are used not just for Judo but for soft play too. [more]
